Welcome to the Prague.bio Conference 2024, the second year of a full-day biotech conference for start-ups, industrial partners, investors, researchers, and other biotech experts from Central Europe. The event offers a unique opportunity for the exchange of experiences and information among all professionals involved in the development of new drugs, diagnostics, medical technologies, and other areas of biotechnology.
Prague.bio Conference 2024 will take place on September 24, 2024, at the Empire Hall in Slovanský dům, Prague 1.

PRELIMINARY PROGRAM

The official opening of the event will follow the registration of participants and morning coffee.
The first keynote speaker will be Christian A. Stein, the CEO of Ascenion GmbH, one of the largest technology transfer institutions in Germany. Christian was the head of the patent and licensing office in the German Human Genome Project and president of ASTP. He has founded various successful biotechnology and other companies and now also serves as a board member of the Alliance for Transfer in Germany. At the conference, he will acquaint participants with the differences in conditions and needs when founding spin-offs from the perspective of founders, investors, and scientists.

The second year of Prague.bio Conference will also feature a panel discussion with representatives of investment funds from Central Europe who are involved in investing in Life Sciences.We are excited to have Sebastian Kreuz from Boehringer Ingelheim Venture Fund, Agnes Oertli from LSA Ventures, Roman Smola from Tensor Ventures and Nicolas Beuzen from i&i Biotech Fund to share their wealth of experience with us.

The second keynote speaker of Prague.bio Conference 2024 will be Petr Jansa. His expertise builds on collaboration with Prof. Antonín Holý and the development of new drugs at Gilead Sciences. Currently, he is intensely involved in the start-up scene, whether as Head of Development at Bridgene Biosciences, as an advisor to the California Life Science FAST program (a program for early-stage start-ups), or as a consultant to Biotech start-ups and investor in innovative projects.

Participants of the Prague.bio Conference 2024 can look forward to a Poster session, which will feature a showcase of approximately twenty Czech and international scientific projects and startups that are trying to translate innovative ideas from laboratories into practice.
A new feature this year is Speed dating. Each participating investor will have 6 time slots during a one-hour session to connect with start-ups and teams of their choice. Various spectrum of investors (VC, Family offices, Angel) will participate.
Special guest of Prague.bio Conference 2024 is Deborah Spencer, MBA, innovation expert and industrial partnership manager from the UK, who will share her experiences from the University of Oxford and other prestigious institutions. Deborah has over 20 years of experience in the life sciences, healthcare and medicine. More recently she has been focused on interdisciplinary working across the physical and life sciences. Working at the interface between industry and academia building extensive networks with a multitude of stakeholders.

The second edition of the Prague.bio Conference will once again feature a panel discussion with representatives of law firms who specialize in intellectual property. Last year, the IP discussion was among the most acclaimed parts of the program, and we believe it will be the same this time.
We will provide more detailed information soon.
After an interesting debate of legal experts, it will be time for the official farewell to the second edition of the Prague.bio Conference 2024.
The event is about networking. The evening reception will be a great opportunity to make new contacts.

The Prague.bio Conference will take place at the Slovanský dům, located in Prague 1, at Na Příkopě 22.
The conference is scheduled for September 24, 2024. The program is tentatively set to begin at 8:30 AM, with registration opening at 8:00 AM.
To get to Slovanský dům in Prague, you can use various modes of public transportation. The venue is centrally located in Prague 1, making it easily accessible. The nearest metro station is Můstek, which serves both Line A (Green) and Line B (Yellow) of the Prague Metro or Náměstí Republiky (Line B). Additionally, there are multiple tram stops nearby, such as the Jindřišká stop (tram n. 3, 5, 6, 9, 14, 24, 25, 26) or Náměstí Republiky stop (tram n. 1, 2, 3, 6, 8, 14, 15, 22, 26), which is a short walk away.
The entrance to the Empire Hall can be found inside Slovanský dům, situated between the cinema ticket counters and the Brasileiro restaurant. This location offers easy access for visitors attending events or functions at the Empire Hall.
If you're planning to arrive by car, it's important to note that parking directly at or near Slovanský dům is not available. However, you can use nearby parking facilities, such as the Parking House under the Kotva shopping center. This parking option provides a convenient and accessible place to leave your vehicle while you attend the event at Slovanský dům. Remember to check the availability and rates of the parking facility in advance.
During the day, lunch and dinner will be provided, along with drinks and light refreshments available throughout the day.
The official program of the Prague.bio Conference 2024 concludes at 6:00 PM, followed by an opportunity for networking. The doors of the conference will officially close at 8:00 PM.
The program of the conference will be conducted in English, and translation into Czech is not provided.
If you wish to attend the Prague.bio Conference 2024, you need to purchase tickets in advance. Tickets can be acquired through their website.
Unfortunately, no recordings of the conference will be available after it concludes.
At this time, we are not considering a live stream for the event. However, if we decide to offer a live stream, we will inform you accordingly.
